About the author

Ahmad Chaudhry, DMD, MD, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He trained in dentistry at Harvard and in medicine and surgery at SUNY Stony Brook. Like most people, he learned how money actually works long after school had finished. He wrote The Money Code so the next generation could start the conversation earlier. He lives in Pennsylvania.

When my first paycheck arrived — a paper check — there was nowhere to walk it in. I took it to one of those shops with the lit sign in the window that gives you cash for a check. They handed me my money and kept about three percent of it… You do not have to be a genius to understand money. You need somebody to tell you how it works, early, before it costs you anything.
